The Official 696 APPRECIATION Thread!!!

Here are my thoughts.

Fit and Finish is top notch. Looks so much better in person. Clutch and Brake lever's are really far away for my short stubby fingers. Mirrors seem really functional. Everything looks really beefy on the bike. Thick Trellis, Thick Sub Frame, Thick Swing Arm, Thick rear sets etc. The seat seems to be made for women. If you have a package its a rather painful seat. You sit way up front and you cant really sit back on the seat. Basically you sit right on your Boys 

HDP was basically empty. I guess no one was as interested as with the 1098 
Now I bet you it would have been standing room only if Ducati announced a 1098 Monster.

I give it a  I could see myself owning one down the road.

I've had one out for a ride and I'll say that it is a strong improvment on my S2R800.  It's also beautiful for those who can accept that things can't or shouldn't stay the same forever.

Saw one today, as usual the local dealer had it on a display stand with a "Please Do NOT Sit" sign on it.
Looks way better in the flesh, I like it, build quality is top notch.

Glad you started a positive thread on the 696.  The -bash the 696- on the old DML was sophomoric and its negativity was tiring.

because ducati has destroyed my beloved monster. and it has gone down the road of being the same as everyone else.  I wouldn't be negitive if they just said that themonster was discontinued and this hideous looking new monster was called someting else. i just cant believe that the machine has gone from practical to euro trash, trendy and  uncomfortable.

now i have no option to upgrade. time for a softtail

Jeebus...get over it.    I sat on one and thought it was just as comfy as any other Monster...and its looks are a matter of opinion.  Hell, post up a pic of your Monster.  I'm sure there are some things on it that I think look stupid.  To each his own.
