Got her a couple of weeks ago.  I had the previous owner ride her to Speeds Cycle for a pre-purchase checkout, followed by a MD inspection and full 7500 mile service.  I just got back from my first real ride--still smiling.  Just plain fun to ride.

Ah, another 'local'  - We've got CAM for the Balto-Wash-Va beachy area - so check in now and then to catch up on the doings. As you might expect things will be relatively quiet for now. But there's the occasional social meet, wrench party, or other event in the colder months

In addition to that the Balto guys set up a faceyspace group

- they even dane to let some of us NoVA scum join!

Did Speeds swap your belts? Or you know how old they are?

Very nice. I prefer the old Monsters to the newer ones.
Round headlight and generally cleaner/basic look IMO.

Thanks for the comments.  I had Speeds do a pre-purchase inspection, then a complete 7500 mile service (plugs, belts, valve adustment, fluids, and it needed a crank sensor), and MD inspection.  The seller didn't have any service records, and I wanted to start from a point where I knew the bike was good.  Did a tail chop:
