All I saw was him dragging his knee...
In his Levi's
Without the bike between his legs
Ouch

I don't discount the "cop theory", but it looks like he tries to steer the bike.....the wrong way. It could've been the front tucking, but it looks like he gives the wrong input first of trying to steer the bike at the same point we always see people make a correction because the corner tightens. Panic reaction because of the corner tightening, seeing the cop or both, but doesn't get much more embarrassing than that!
I can see the youtube comments now...."Typical Ducati Douche, guy doesn't even try to pick up his own bike...crash valet does it for him"

Which are remarkably sticky at times... need some of those Garne ones... I think they have hard slider sole sections
The crossfire boots are rebuildsble and sidi makes a sumo xfire with a sole slider. That slider will bolt up to the regular dirt version of the xfire...

Yes, he seems to almost flinch jut before, as for picking his bike, most people can barely stand on their legs after an incident(as anyone that has been down can relate), he was also told not to worry about the bike.

Which are the boots I've got. But those soles aren't like plastic sliders, they are still a rubbery compound.

Ive looked at this a few times. BEFORE the front tucks, you can see him progressively moving to the opposite side of the bike. As he is doing this, right before he falls, he begins to STEER. He was crossed up on the bike.. counterweighting when he should have been countersteering. Looks like he just overloaded the front.. tuck.. pow.. roll.

Man, so many things went wrong there.
Aside from the guy not having proper gear, his body position coming into the corner was horrendous. Arms were as stiff as it can be and the only thing that he was willing to hang out was his pelvis. As he was coming out of the corner he tried adjusting his body position, which at the same time cause his boots to slip from the pegs.
The cop coming in his line of sight didn't helped neither.

Lot of people go down right there, there's a dip in the pavement... Watch his front suspension close on the slowmo, you'll see the front chassis sort of fall downward just before the front tire starts to give, as if his fork rebound is maybe set too stiff???. And Militar3rd's right, there's a lot of stuff going on there, stiff body, arched back, appears to totally tense up as the washout occurs, gets crossed up, probably spooked by the five-0 and the rest of the crowd - every accident is a chain of events, take away any one link of the chain and the accident doesn't occur... Feel for him, but glad he's lived to learn from it

spotted the cop, twitched and that put him over the threshold...
Agreed. Got scared after seeing the cop. Does one usually sit there?
Hmm..never saw crash valets after I picked up my bike immediately following a highside. Would've been a nice option?

There's a big pull off there so lots of folks stop. From the videos it seems a LEO hangs out from time to time. Plenty of zippy cars n bikes going through and some ass-hattery

Shouldn't have to watch the toes. Ball of the foot on the pegs and tight to the bike, the only time you move it is to shift, and you do that when the bike is being picked up past the apex. Or better yet a quick shifter but you still want the bike to be coming up from lean angle. Rear brake is to steady the suspension on a curvy road.
The sides of my boots are beveled, the feeler gauges on the pegs are gone, that's from track days. On the street the only time things drag is when one of my buddies wants to try the Ducati and I'm on their Harley (I keep forgetting those things can't lean). I have done my share of causing Harley riders to sell their antiques and get a real bike.
