I didn't think this post would go 4 pages deep despite the polarizing looks of the Diavel.   Considering I haven't driven one I can only comment on its aesthetic. In that red with white stripe and white wheels combo, it looks like it's about to transform.

Instead, what I'd love to see done to the Diavel (as a one off) is reduce the bulk up front, lose those cans, forward controls and rework the tail, getting rid of those vertical tail lights.  The kind of transformation I have in mind is something like what Roland Sands did to the Yahama T-Max - maybe less "mad-max" like.

From this:

To this:

Both of these creep me right out.

I've yet to see anything come out of Roland Sands garage that didn't look like crap. I don't know what the fascination is with him.

It does look a little like a surprised one-eyed bass.

The photo is weird, it makes them look thinner.

35mm forks, common on ducatis at the time.
The wheel spokes are actually much thicker..

I'm not sure which looks weaker, the front wheel or the fork.

 Undecided

And I wonder how they decided which US state to name that pile after...

it kind of looks like an iron?

No, I was pointing out the irony of a guy riding a nouveau monster complaining about the looks of the diavel and how Ducati 'went that direction.'
