Tell us more about the seat, got a pic? Have you looked and found someone to make you a tank?
Don't have anything that shows the seating area specifically, but this could give you an idea:
Done by a custom builder I found, who unfortunately was about to shut up shop. This was one of his last efforts.
This one won't fit the stock cowl. I wanted the two-up capacity. Also, having the flat surface behind the rider helps a lot with carrying stuff on a trip.
There seems to be a heap of custom seat builders in the US, so you should have no trouble getting one done.
I asked for the seating surface to be a half-inch taller than stock. Relieves the knee bend just enough to eliminate need to stretch between fills (I'm 6ft).
Should mention that the Cogent Dynamics shock revalve helps a lot on the distance comfort side, too (see my sig line).
There are places that will do custom aluminium tanks - e.g. Beater in Japan - but the price is very high (understandably) and they need a tank to model from. The Cal Cycle Works plastic version in the works sounds like it won't be much bigger than stock, but certainly a good price.
Member ducatiz is working on setting up a production run for an aluminium version. Not sure of the final capacity nor whether it will fit an S4Rs (which has a different fuel pump flange from the S2R/pre-testa S4R, among other possible distinctions) but sounds like he is doing his best to accommodate all needs.
