I recently bought a 2009 M696 with 3,600 miles on it. I still have 2 CBRs as well, a 1000RR and an F4i. I've been riding for 7 years and do all of my own work on my bikes.

I find myself comparing my CBRs to the Monster a lot. There are pros and cons to both bike styles. I'll be checking this place out for information on the Duc. I notice that info on Ducatis is very limited compared to Japanese bikes, as well as used parts. I don't expect that to be a problem though. the important stuff, like maintenance on the Duc, is all over the net.

Anyway, it's good to be part of the Ducati crew. I hope to share as much info as I receive on here. If you have any CBR or comparison questions, feel free to ask.

Welcome.
Many of us also have Japanese bikes. I've had 2 Kwakas, 3 Hondas, a Yamaha and now have a Suzuki.
Ducatis have a special place in my heart.
