monster s4rs sprocket question
«

looking at changing the gearing on my bike, already decided to change to a 14T front and now looking at the rear should i spend the extra money for the carrier to save the weight . I'm happy with my bike and the way it handles, but for an extra 300 bucks i can have some weight....or just be happy and spend on a sprocket and spend money somewhere else.
has anyone done this on the same model as mine.
also some recommendations where to buy online.

I ran a 14 / 44 with a 520 DID EVR3 with a Fiam quick change rear for 15k mi. on my old S4R and have been running the same, but with a 43 rear for over 40k mi. on my S4RS and loved em.
Not that expensive really and definately lighter.

I might say do the 14t in the near term and set aside the cash for the carrier and such for when it comes time for a new chain and sprocket SET. Then you'll have the extra cash to go for the extra bling of the nice carrier, nice sprox and chain.

On an S4RS unless you're going to do a lot of urban riding there should be little reason to do either.
If the throttle is snatchy or it stumbles off the line a little bit put on a FatDuc O2 Manipulator, a G2 throttle tube or both.
