I noticed my mirror was bent downward one day while in a parking garage. I have a set of Rizoma Limit mirrors and I got them shortly after buying the moto back in '06. Anyway, I noticed that the mirror had been "knocked" downward, either by someone walking by or intentionally messing with them. They have always been tightened to spec and it does take a bit of effort to move them out of position.
So after about a month of daily commuting I noticed that the mirror was vibrating more and more at lower rpms. Well one morning on the ride in that sucker flew off at 70mph and tapped me on the elbow as it flew off. Took me a sec to realize what it was so I pulled over on the shoulder and walked back about 100 feet to get it. Luckily I was in the left lane and it bounced on the shoulder and the jersey wall. I'm just glad it didn't hit someone behind me.
So thanks to whoever hit my mirror walking past it or felt they needed to inspect my mirrors.
