Yup, it's supposed to sound like that....

Yes, it's early but just curious.  Anyone thinking about heading out to Austin April 21st for the race with a trailer and room for another bike?  Trying to investigate all options before deciding on riding the 20+ hours on the bike.....

I am flying to OK City, then driving down with my buddy to Austin.  We are gonna stay in San Antonio where his sister owns a dance club in San Antonio Friday night.  My buddy who was a Marine is an Austin PD detective who offered to "escort" us to the track.

Lucky you....Just checked prices for Austin at the local Hampton Inn.  Whopping $1,500 for 3 nights  Shocked.  Austin might have to be another year at that price point.

Here's the link, registration for 2013 isn't up yet. This is the thread for this year's on AdvRider.

I'll definitely ride on Sat, maybe Sun as well.

Doesn't sound right, hotels near the track have good rates, don't know about downtown. In fact when I talked to Vicki she said DNA said the track had made deals with Hotels better than DNA could do, contact COTA and see what you come up with. - Gene

I'm not sure yet. I have a track day at Barber on 4/15 and it is tempting to go do some riding up in TN/NC then over to NOLA, then onto Austin. But I also have the track days at VIR with the MAD crowd on 4/22-4/23. Might wait a year and get my fix at Indy. - Gene

Very curious as to how much of a crowd will gather at the race.  Almost made the F1 trip but was sidetracked due to work.

Definitely have Indy penciled back in for Aug.  Praying for less crashes and better racing....

Not going now.  Friend in OKC has flight obligations as an instructor at his new command.  He had the tickets, and transpo....which makes me a no-go.  At least I can make the WERA race in April now.
