First stage kicks off on Jan 5.

Still wish it was Paris to Dakar. But Chile has some gnarly terrain and will make for plenty of challenge.

Can't they come up with a more appropriate name? bang head

Is there really something that unmarketable about Lima-Santiago Rally?!!!  P-A-C Rally?!!!

Anything to reflect what it really is!

That aside, it is an amazing event!

can't blame them for not wanting to re-brand... besides, maybe they're hoping to move back one day (if the locals will quit "harassing" the competitors).

If they come close to Santiago, I might call in sick for a day or 2.

The final stage ends in Satiago on Saturday.  Is that close enough for you?

Seeing some of those finishes on TV, with spectators nearly/being run over by a mud-caked bike/truck doing 100 mph on a two lane dirt street thru the heart of a town, my guess is you won't be anywhere near the end of the route unless you have a death wish.
