Hi All, I'm starting this thread to catalog my adventures this winter as a take a wrench to my 07' 695. I have never wanted to move south until this winter when i was sidelined by the snow and salt/sand.
As my bike sits right now,

Mods already done
  • Intergrated tail
  • tail chop
  • Removed any plastic
  • Crankcase breather removed

These are the mods i would like to accomplish this winter....if you want to see more mods done contribute here by buying my old parts.  Grin

  • Add Oil Cooler
  • 2-1 Exhuast System
  • Ducabike rearsets
  • MT-03 headligt

Further down the road aka when i have more $$$
  • SBK Fork swap
  • Wheels
  • DSS to SSS
  • Rear Shock
  • Shorty rear hugger
  • SBK masters and Calipers
  • Bellypan
  • CRG Levers
  • Paint

Oil CoolerI've been wanting to add this since i got stuck in traffic in the white mountains and my temp got 300 F. I've gotten an oil cooler from an M900 and now i just need the diverter spring and some place to mount it to. The boring route is to find a valve cover from a 2V bike and do it that way. Anyone do it another way? Directly to the frame or something? I'm open to ideas and you guys have alot of them!

MT-03 HeadlightI love this headlight from LSL

But from LSL it's $400!!! Not exactly cheap when you are on a budget. So to ebay i went and found this Pretty much the same headlight but for $160 and not from China, double score!! I'll mount it up with some low profile blinkers like in the above photo. Gives it more of a street fighter look and gets rid of the boring circular headlight.

2-1 SystemNow I've always liked the 2 into 1 system on the 1100EVO with the compwerkes can, so i thought I could do that! A google search later turns up this thread on Ducati.ms so now i had actual pictures with what i wanted to do. I'm no expert welder, but my boss is and he is a great guy so he said he would do it.

^^^Pic after the cross flow is cut and welded more pics in the link^^^
so now i needed a can to fit to the end of the exhasust. I emailed competition werkes and they will pretty much build you anything you want. I got a quote of $400 for a can similar to the 1100EVO with a smaller ID that would just slip on to my exhuast outlet. But i though i could still do it cheaper and found that their smallest ID is on their can for the R6.

It's pretty much exactly want i wanted with a smaller inlet(around 1 7/8in) and you can find them online for  200-300$. Score! Now i'm just waiting for my headers to come back and i'll grab a can and mount it up. I'll probably have to fabricate something to mount the can to the frame as i don't like it just hanging off. The weight savings alone are going to be huge, the stock system is 18lbs the comp werkes can is around 4lbs i think. This will also alow me to ditch the stock rearsets and put some ducabikes(only ones out there i think, right?) on. This will clean up the rear ALOT. I'm only slighty worried about how the engine will cope with the new set up, if it doesnt like i'll just have get a new set of headers and go hi mounts or something.

Suggestions or tips are appreciated. Shiny side up!

Did some minor things this weekend. Mostly cleaned up the front sprocket area got rid of the gunk that was caked in there.

Got this in on friday.....

The welds on it are perfect. Now just waiting for the headers.

I took a dremal to my sprocket cover for a free mod, came out pretty good.

I made my own seat tray a while back. I took it off grinded down the edges and bent the front edge 90deg and attached my license plate. before it was parell with the tray as it was bolted to the old side panel mount. Now its more visible but still sorta hidden.

I'm not working in my own garage(Apt living) so i had to do with my grandfathers(hurry for snowbirds). He doesn't have much bench space so i took some carbboard from the ikea desk i just built and "made" this.

Best part is i can write on the cardboard and tag the bolts so i remeber where they go.

I also pulled this out of the frame hole by the suspension linkage.

It's an LED for lighting up your bike, the PO left it on there. Not even Ducs are immune to these mods.

Looking good with that shorty.  waytogo

May I suggest some good ear plugs.  Evil

Any plans on painting your seat pan black?
It would match all the other PC'ing, one thing I think Ducati did well for the 695 model.

Do work son.

Looks good.  Interested in seeing how you mount your new headlight.  Are you going to drop the clocks while you are at it?

Nice job with the license plate mount.  Do you have your plate lit?  If not, have you gotten any "attention" for where its mounted?

I wear ear plugs now, i might get the baffle. I'll judge by how much my ears bleed when i mount and it up and run it.  Grin Didn't think about painting the seat pan. I should as it collects grime and dirt as I run with no rear hugger right now. Thanks for the idea.

I'll see how the headlight looks before i decide if i want to drop the gauges. This plate setup has not been out in the street yet. Before i had bolted to the seat tray with no bend so it was even more hidden and i had no probelms with LEOs. I might cut in my license plate blub into the seat tray. The LED on my intergrated tail light are pretty bright so i'll have to see it at night to make sure it's worth doing it.

I should be getting wheel tape, rear sets and tailchop plugs in today  Grin Grin

How 'bout mounting the seat pan over the tabs? It may hide the edges of the pan and look a little cleaner too.

Did some more work this weekend after getting some parts in.

Finally got some plugs for the tail chop.

Red wheel tape, was a PITA to put on. But it really makes the boring brembo 3 spokes pop.

Ducabike rearsets. Huge upgrade over the clunky stock rearsets

Still waiting on my headers. The headlight should be in this week. I'll fab the oil cooler mount too this week. It's all starting to come together!

Those sure are some expensive rear sets especially considering how much metal you actually get. Though I think I'm discovering that this seems to be the case with any aftermarket rear sets...

I'm interested to see what you do with the oil cooler, as I, too, am looking to do this mod to my '07 695.

You mentioned that you removed the crankcase breather...by this, do you mean that you got rid of the black box and plumbing that went to the airbox, and instead have a short hose with a filter?

The problem with that setup is that if it does burp out some oil, it throws it on the rear wheel (assuming that you have the filter there, which most people do). I do agree that it looks a whole better though.

You can see the K&N filter in the pic. It sights right on top of the reed behind the horizontal cylinder above the crankcase. It can throw up oil, but is more likely to seep out of the filter than "burp" on to the rear tire. It can happen, but i'll take my chances with how much it cleans up the rear.

Minor update....
mocked up the mounting of the oil cooler

I'll take pictures of the final product tomorrow, I need to buy some bolts and bushings. There is a bolt off one of the center cross members of the frame that i used to attach the bracket to. Also painted the seat tray black today.

I ordered the wrong bypass spring from pro-Italia. bang head bang head So I won't install the oil cooler in till i have the actual bypass thingamajig. My headlight should be coming in from the UK this week. I also need to order some turn signals. I scored a belly pan and seat cowl also, so things are coming together!!
