What's happening with the exhaust? I noticed you had the one you bought earlier on for sale...

I bought an unbaffled version by mistake....I like loud but not that loud.

Got alot of stuff in this week so i was able to do quite a bit of work today.

I found some high mount up pipes on the flea market here(Thanks Spankee!!). I've always liked the high mount exhaust better and i wanted a bit more pipe before i put on my slip on so it worked out perfectly. It also fits the Competition Werkes R6 exhaust perfectly, I was a little worried about my measurements.

Trial fitment of the slip on

Cleaned them with a scotchbrite pad and WD40.
Before and after(just scotchbrite)

Both cleaned with WD40 and scotchbrite.

I'll be putting that belly pan on once i get my headers back(Got that and the seat cowl from 118911's M900 part out, Thanks!).
New Seatcowl....

I need to space out the tail light so it's flush with the cowl.
Painted the rear hugger. It came out ok, i should have striped it and sanded it better.

Fixed the wheel tape on the front.

Starting to come together!!

Took the rear header pipe off last night. It can be done without removing the shock or the ride height link, it just gets a little tight in there. Cleaned it with a scotch pad and WD40, I'll take a metal wire brush to it as it still looks pretty dirty. I also took off my belt cover and painted them a gloss black as they were sticking out in a bad way next to the gloss black clutch cover. My header should be finished in a week or two, finally. Then i can really start doing the final prep before riding season starts.

Finshed cleaning off the rear header pipes, looks all shiny now instead of grungy. Also put the belt covers back on and what a difference a frest coat of paint makes.

Looking good John  waytogo

I noticed you rerouted your wires. Did you cut up most of the bundles and solder to length or just hid it through the frame? I'm looking to do it sometime jsut wondering what kind of mess I may get myself into.

Any specific wires? I've been moving most of them around as i go through the bike and re routing them to places that makes more sense/out of sight. I have to get my tank replaced so i'll wait till after that to zip tie most everything down.

Done! I fitted the compwerkes slipon and it was WAY to loud. Looked good but i live in an apartment so that would not have gone over well when i ride to work at 6:30am. So i did a little searching and found this leovince slipon for $200 for an R6, slipped right on to the high mount pipe like it was factory fit. My only complaint about this is that it's a little longer than the compwerkes one and doesn't end with the tail of the bike.

I hung the exhaust off the the passenger grab handles with some extra rubber and steel i had hanging around. Cheap and easy.

I need to add some exhaust wrap to the up pipe as with the ducabike rearsets they run closer so the foot pegs. The heel slider on my right sidi boot has a nice burn hole in it now. You can make out the black part on the exhaust in the first picture. As for how the bike ran with the 2-1 system, about the same from the seat of my pants dyno. My first test ride was a little hairy as i set the shifter too far forward, thus making me lift my boot up off the peg to shift up. The second test ride was weird, on the way back the bike would stutter at round 4k rpm and then died shorty after. I pulled over looked over all my fuel connections and everything seemed fine, tried to start but it wouldn't. I then lifted the tank  and checked underneath found nothing. This time it started and seemed to run fine.  I think i ran out of gas, my low fuel idiot light must have gone bad. As i went out the next day with a gallon of the good stuff and it ran well and then rode it all the way to the gas station with no problems. I'm going to put the DP ecu in it with the MWR filter most likely, when i have some extra cash. After that i'm going to get the suspension set up for my fat ass(should have done this first but you know how it goes). Then it might be done............might.

The pipes look great. Don't wrap them. Just buy or make a heat shield. And as for the cans, just trim them down. Easy peazy lemon squeezy

I'm super curious about how you did the 2-1 and how it's running. Did you just combine the headers into a single highmount of the same diameter? Any tuning required?

This sounds suspiciously like what happened to me, which turned out to be a bad fuel flange bulkhead wire assembly.

There is a link in the first post to where i got the idea from. Basiclly cut down the crossover piece and weld. I have since take off the up pipe and went low mount. There was too much back pressure generated by not opening up the diameter, so i went low mount where it opens up much faster. I opened my airbox and flashed my ECU to DP Spec. It's running alright, not great. I need to sync the FI to get it to run better, will be doing that this weekend. I'll report back with details/pictures.

I'm pretty certain it was a fuel hose that got cut off. It's been running fine ever since( about 300 miles). And the gas light is working now. It was weird, but hasn't appeared again(*knock on wood*).

Yeah, well you are essentially doing what I was going to do, up until you scrapped the comp werkes (I want a baffled version because of the noise too).
