Now if Buell had produced the bike above early in his time with HD things would be a whole lot different for him today. Sadly one thing about the buells, they were never aesthetically pleasing to the eye

Says you. The last generation aircooled Buell was very pleasing to my eye. Also the fuel in the frame and oil in the swing arm was nice technology.

Well there was more than one reason Buell did not stay in business. The first is it was a bad marketing move to sell them inside the HD dealers. Those posers did not know squat about sport bikes, nor were did they even care. The second reason Buell is gone is HD had a knee jerk reaction when they got in trouble, a short sighted move on their part.

Disagree.  The only thing they can be aesthetically pleasing to is the eye  Wink.

FWIW, both of my eyes find most Buells pleasing to behold.  The sound?  That's another story.

Could it be?

Can't tell from this view, but it's the only pic I found of it.

Nice technology. Not sure. Sounds more like, "what can we do different", than "what do we really gain from it".
For sure, the frame was HUGE and covering the most part of the engine view.
Never liked Buells myself.
I love the Cafe HD idea, but I'd rather go for things like these:

As the former owner of a Buell XB9r allow me a few words.  While the technology was great on the bike it was a giant hairy piece of crap.  In two years I busted five drive belts.  Not a one covered under warranty each in fact came with a new gen "upgrade" that required about a five hundred dollar spend but would stop the broken belt issue, NOT!  My headlights (stock bulbs) melted through the bezels and shorted the stator, TWICE!  The third stator was the result of wires being routed horribly and chaffing the frame.  Erick made a major mistake dealing with HD and HD made a giant mistake pissing off Buell owners.  I will NEVER give Erick Buell or HD a nickel again as long as I live.

While it was fun to ride the problems were intolerable and the customer service horrible,   I sold that bike for $2000.00 and a MZ Scorpion Tour.  It was the first bike I have ever been happy to see leave.  It is also the only bike that has ever left me by the side of the road six total times. in 20,000 miles.

Friends don't let friends ride Buells.

All I can hear is "potato potato potato potato potato"

I do NOT understand the obsession with big clunky Vtwins that the American bike builders cant seem to shake.  Im not saying everything should have a Desmo L-twin (if you want to say it I wont argue)...but I wish SOMEONE would try SOMETHING else.  (other than the V8/V10 "bikes")

Those early Honda VFR engines had gear driven cams that made beautiful sounds. How about one of those?
