originally posted in tech, but i think that was the wrong forum so i deleted and derbyed here:

so, being that im a huge dumbass, im going to make my long story short.  After 7 hours and 4 trips to sears hardware (which is my bad because all of that was absolutely unnecessary), i was able to finish my Competition Werks Tail chop with Light Werkes Integrated light. when i went to close the seat, i noticed it wasnt locking so i started to troubleshoot... i ended up removing the lock cable from the key lock (the one you have to relocate) and replace the seat. the seat went in fine and even locked.... except now i cant unlock it!  bang head bang head bang head bang head

any suggestions?

btw, i bought the 'smoked' version and noticed the blinkers are kind of dim... is this normal? the brake light lights up nicely but i would imagine in sunlight the blinkers would be a little difficult to notice.  any thoughts on this? also my blinkers flash faster than normal now too....

hmmm. with a CW tail kit, i would just cut it open and throw it away, because that's about where it should be anyway. it's trash.

You should be able to trigger the lock open by pulling on the wire the lock activates under the seat.
I have a tail chop on my S2R1K and when I have my Ventura rack on the frame covers the lock, I just use my key and put tension on the wire
and it pops open.
This may be of no use to you and what ever model your bike is  Roll Eyes
But I hope it is  waytogo

I take it you tried pushing down hard on the back of the seat while turning the key to relieve tension/pressure??

there are gaps in the CW where you might be able to fish out the end of the cable with a wire hangar. try that.
