Hi all,

I finally got the chance to tackle this project and with the help of some very helpful people on this forum, managed to upgrade the front end of my Monster to a dual disk setup. I'd like to thank everyone who replied and answered my personal messages with their advice. It helped immensely.

Hey JH,

Thanks for your interest and comments.

The following parts and where they were sourced as follows;

Calipers Brembo 65mm twin pin (used)- eBay believe it or not. Off a M620 in very good condition. Missed out of a good set from one of the guys on this forum. Keep an eye out on this forum.
Brake lines (used)- came with the calipers
Copper Washers (new) - Gowanloch here in Sydney
16mm Brembo brake Master Cylinder (new) - Yoyodyne in the U.S
Brembo Snowflake Rotors (new) - Yoyodyne in the U.S
Rotor bolts (new) - titanium from TPO Parts in the U.S
Caliper Bolts (new) - titanium from TPO Parts in the U.S
Brake Pads (new) - Gowanloch here is Sydney
Brake fluid - Gowanloch here in Sydney
Front and rear Paddock stands - Kaneg

Whole project took me around 4 hours. I hit a couple of snags with a couple of stubborn bolts so it would have been quicker.

Ay questions, fire away. I would be happy to help out.

Braking is awesome with the dual disk setup. I opted for the coffin style brake master cylinder as I didn't have to replace the clutch m/c and I wanted it all to match up. I looked at the radial type and couldn't justify the extra dollars.

Thanks mate. The timing belt covers came from Danmoto. They are pretty well made although I had them sprayed Matt black.

Well done on the brake upgrade , did the same for my wifes 695 using set up from an S2R1000 thanks Andy
made a world of difference .
Just a thought on your belly pan  , rotate the fixings down a tad so it sits flat with the road rather than pointing up
looks better IMO
What seat is that , I like the pleats.
Black out that headlight ring , if you use black electrical tape first to see if you like it before spraying it.
And again what a great looking black Monster.

Good job ... the bike looks great.

I'm also curious about the seat (I can't remember if it has been discussed before). Is it comfortable? Does all the extra stitching cause any problems?

Thanks for the compliments.

The seat I had re trimmed by a friend who is an auto trimmer. The inspiration came from the Ducati Diesel Monster. I think it compliments the style of the Monster. It's quite comfortable and so far no probs with the stitching. He used a genuine leather so I hope it should be ok.

The belly pan actually sits parallel with the ground. I have tried to rotate a little further down but that's as far as I can get it. The photo does make it look like its sitting higher than it is.

I've seen the headlight ring blackened and I'm not sure if I like it.
