Hi. I just got a 2000 Ducati monster 750. The original handle bar has been removed and its with clip-ons. The bike has therefore been lowerred from the front to make room for the clip-ons. i am tempted to move it back up and either put the clip-ons beneath the top T3 mounting so as to get it back to the original height or install an original handle bar.

I am not happy with the way the bike is because i believe its geometry has been changed completely. Any suggestions?

Thanks

is the handling not to your liking?
is the riding position uncomfortable?

Clip ons usually make low speed maneuvers more difficult, and ones below the triple would probably make that matter worse. It's not so much about the bikes geometry - but your geometry in relation to the bike. It's harder to get that head turned a lot when you're draped over the bike, vs when you're in a more upright position. Though our necks are quite flexible, they do have ways they prefer to bend.

Also, the clip-ons on my 620, mounted above the triple required a reduction in the steering range.

If you're looking for something easier to handle to tight low speed stuff, like an urban commuter, I'd suggest you got back to bars, or clip-ons with rise. For example - speedy-moto 'tall-boy' clip-ons
http://store.speedymoto.com/ducati-monster-adjustable-riser-clip-ons-p219.aspx
They come in 2.5, 3.5 or 4.5" of rise. You could swap them in directly without moving your forks (probably). Or you could raise the forks, and do the under the triple install, and still possibly gain some height at the bars if you used the tallest set.
