Clip ons usually make low speed maneuvers more difficult, and ones below the triple would probably make that matter worse. It's not so much about the bikes geometry - but your geometry in relation to the bike. It's harder to get that head turned a lot when you're draped over the bike, vs when you're in a more upright position. Though our necks are quite flexible, they do have ways they prefer to bend.
Also, the clip-ons on my 620, mounted above the triple required a reduction in the steering range.
If you're looking for something easier to handle to tight low speed stuff, like an urban commuter, I'd suggest you got back to bars, or clip-ons with rise. For example - speedy-moto 'tall-boy' clip-ons

Or you could raise the forks, and do the under the triple install, and still possibly gain some height at the bars if you used the tallest set.
