HELP! Seat Lock jammed!

I just installed the DP Tail Tidy kit on my 2012 696 and after testing my lock 4 or 5 times I deemed it safe to try and put my touring seat on,, Apparently it was not and I feel like a jackass with a stuck locked seat and a key that wont even free itself from the lock itself .
Does anybody have some advice on how to remove seat without the lock? or is this going to cost me a lot of money?

have you tried pushing down on the rear of the seat close to the latch to release pressure before trying to turn the key?

Yes I think my problem is my cable slipped out of its slot and my key is turning nothing

Problem solved with the new tail tidy kit I managed to pull out my tailight and get the cable with pliers
