Boom Tubes installed 2009 696

I haven't really ridden her yet but it seems plausible...the rear cylinder header is pretty short and there ain't much blockage in there to prevent it..

I've heard a few people comment that their boomtubes aren't much quieter than straight pipes.  I've ridden by 796 with no mufflers (straight shot out of the midpipe) and the sound was unbearable.  Exceedingly loud and obnoxious - wore earplugs and didn't dare go over 4K RPM in fear of ear damage.  Did you ever hear your 696 with no mufflers?  How does it compare to the boomtubes?

My M620 with no mufflers was really really loud . . . activated a few car alarms up to blocks away . . .

yeah I ran her straight pipes once and it was real loud...especially pointed up at my face the way they do at the Y joint...these boom tubes are pretty loud but its such a refined sound..the certain type metal used on the pipes and the very shape of the tips combined with a baffle thats been experimented with for a few years now..
its kinda like the difference between throwing a pack of lit Black Cats into a 55gal steel barrel and Miles Davis blowing through a baritone sax, even at the same volume they are very different..

I was a little worried about too much sound, that's why I waited a year to buy them...aside from wanting a fierce sounding Momster, I live in a city full of drivers who text a lot and pay little attention to what's going on around them..I want people to hear/feel me, for a little more safety.
and it's not as loud as those Harley's..and sounds so much better.
