Ran across this article just now.  What's interesting is that down towards the bottom of the story it says that there will be three MotoGP teams practicing in Austin NEXT weekend (3/16, 3/17).

Wonder if the test is open to the public?

Ducati isn't showing up because they are cheap according the Hayden.  He also acknowledged a while back that Ducati will get smoked at Austin ( worse than normal ) since Yam and Honda will already have data.  I guess Audi's pockets aren't as deep as we would hope.

This makes me sad.  I mean how many R8's does the world need, really?

It would be interesting to get the low down from Hayden someday on his time at Ducati... The bike is not only uncompetitive, it's also hell bent on launching its riders into near-earth orbit.  Instead of a speed hump on their leathers, maybe Hayden and Dovizioso should use that space for a parachute?

OK, sorry.  rant off.  need more coffee.  Carry on  Grin

I'm assuming that Audi knows the GP project stands no chance of winning anyway, so there is no point in spending the money to go.  They also probably realize that its just Yam and Honda at the track, so they'll look like complete dogshit without the CRT's lining up behind them. ( although the Aprilia will give the Ducati a run )
