So, I've been learning everything as I go with my whole Monster Project. When I was working out the front end swap (2001 748 onto a 1998 750 Monster) the geometry of the offset and rake was something I came to understand. I know I need a steering stabilizer, and now I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do it.

Here's my Monster in it's current form:

The triples and entire front end are from the 748 and the steering stem and rest of the bike is the M750.

I've looked at the side mount options (a while back) which I find kind of ugly but hey, they do their job. My concern is having them match the bike. Are there any options that I can get in black and/or gold?

Check out a Scott's damper.  You'll probably have to call them to make sure it is put together for your bike, but they come in gold, and they are top mount.

Hyper Pro has a black and gold side mount for Monsters.  Since you have superbike forks you will need a different fork mount though Give them a call.

This mount allows you to use a little Ohlins damper under the triple on early monsters

MW Billet Steering Damper Mount: Monster

You will need a little shim to reduce the size down to a an SBK fork. We have them for the lower triple--they can be cut down in size:

that would be the route I would go!!!

Undermount FTW. Minimizes the clutter and will stand less of a chance of getting mangled vs the side mounting.

+3 on the undermount.

not the greatest picture showing it, but you should get an idea...

My only minor complaint is it looses a little bit of turn (I can't remember right or left) but you only notice this if you're moving it around it tight places.
