2011 M 696 Shaking Gas Tank

You do realize we're a few years into this information.

Yup. I'm pretty new to Ducati though, so it's kind of new to me.

  The tank on my 696 greatly expanded one summer, but it did not wiggle. It was actually wedged into place needing a mallet to remove it from its base. Also the tank spread the tank panels apart at the base of the seat, but no wobble.

I asked my dealer about the tank issues when I dropped my bike off for an electrical issue. The service manager said the 696 was the least commonly affected bike and that the warranty for tank issues is extended to 5 or 6 years after purchase, so I'm in no rush to get mine replaced since my factory warranty is up in about three weeks.
