CAM track day anyone?

Also, a suit question. How should a one-piece suit fit? Should your voice rise up an octave when you stand suddenly? I've tried on a Astars 36 (tight [squeak], but not bad in riding position, needed help to get it off) and a Dainese 40 (snug but comfy to walk around in, easy in, easy out).  

standing up straight, it should be snug IF it is ergonomically cut/shapped for a tucked riding position...it should pull on the boys a tad bit...it should/will stretch a little bit as it breaks in while you wear it ( some people do break in wearing while watching TV on the couch)..the key is...you don't want any of the suit to be able to roll or move around you or parts of you as that would result in additional abrasion(s) if you find the need to see how protective the suit actually is.

A valid concern to be sure. But consider this, at the track, if you go the 8th or 9th, you would be in some school sessions to start the day, both class and on track. After the two mandatory monitored sessions, you're allowed to go your own pace but can always request more coaching. if you're persistent and make a buddy with a coach early on you could *possibly* get coaching all day long.

Also you're allowed to ride your pace, as long as you do so safely. Speeds in the beginners groups can be remarkably moderate. Also, Shenny is a tighter course, so top speeds are low by comparisons to some tracks.

All the traffic is going the same way, its not nearly as complex as 211 and there's much more limited need to watch for road hazards. If there is one, you will be warned and the session may be stopped to clear it. So, at the end of the day the track is probably a safe way to get that saddle time and get coaching to improve skills you won't get out on your own.

Obviously can't make you go - but just ponder it.

at the track...there is less risk due to a lack of oncoming traffic...it is the responsibility of a rider to pass you safely or not at all in the beginner groups, so no worries about what is behind you....which means you can go as fast as you feel comfy and get tips and tricks and help from the coaches that are everywhere....

TPM, the group running things 8/9 DOES allow passing in the B groups. But only outside passing with an X (can't recall exactly) buffer between the bikes. They do note that once the apex is hit, there is no longer an inside/outside designation

All valid points for learning on track vs street damn I miss doing trackdays, I got the itch again last Sunday. I'm out of town June 8th and 9th so I'll keep an eye out for the next time CAM is running the circuit. I can volunteer a suv wired for a trailer if someone can volunteer a trailer.

I found a battery drain on my bike a few days ago that will drain it enough in a few minutes so it won't start. Brand new battery. Grrr. Gotta fix it before track day!

Oh FWIW, I wear a 54 (EU) with back and chest armor.

Will the bike keep running if is starts? Do we need jim to help bump start you?

The bike will keep running once started. It will also start after an hour or so on a battery tender. I've put an ammeter between the negative lead and the battery and can measure a current even with all the fuses pulled. Hmm. I've never bump started the bike but I've seen Jim and Frank's pictorial evidence, so I know it's possible!

Chris is a buddy of mine that is not on this forum.

I'll be there for Sunday only. I'd like to do a track weekend sometime this summer though.

The WERA races are this weekend too at Summit Main, so if you get bored we'll be racing on the other side.  I'll be pitted behind a black enclosed trailer "Wallace Racing" vinyl on the front
