The Panigale is getting STOMPED in SBK

It did take victory in Super STK but still 2nd in championship just like last year.

My position on the 1199 is still being supported by the lack of success on the track.
Seems it competes well with other road stk bikes, but taking the frameless design to the next level just didn't (GP) and doesn't (SBK) make winning sense.

Raux  it is bad enough I can't watch WSBK this season, but also I am in agreement with you about the frame design. It would be too painful to watch Checa place 10th anyways.

Due to lack of TV coverage I have not been following WSBK this year and was surprised to see Checa finishing so badly. Is the Panigale down on power, or is this another handling issue?

I forgot... does Ducati still race WSBK and MotoGP? laughingdp

Great to see Sykes kicking butt. I have always liked him going back to the 2009 season with Yammyhammer and Spies. He never got to show his stuff then but he's damn sure doing it last year and this year! waytogo

Too bad Suzook didn't funnel enough resources (like Kawi did) into their WSBK program after bailing on GP. Kawi and Sykes are showing the results. I think (as much as I love them... got 2 Gixxers and a Busa) the 1000 Gixxer needs a major re-do much like Kawi did on the most recent ZX-10R version.

Too bad the "re-do" on the Ducati hasn't panned out. Roll Eyes Maybe time will tell.

The 1199 has major intake restrictors under the present rules, so they are giving away alot of peak hp and top speed.  I dont think Checa can catch the draught.

I think the rules used to allow for changes to balance things more when a pattern emerges, but by the time that happens Checa will be too far behind.

Dont know if the rules still have that provision for changes on the go. Mind you, with who is in charge now anything can happen anytime without notice.

Thanks for the info. Looked like the Ducs were going to do well after Checa qualified well at Phillip Island, after that it's pretty much been a disaster.

towards the end of the BeIN broadcast ( which is fooooking phenominal- THANK YOU BeIN !!! ) Johnathan Greene mentioned that the intake restrictors that are in place in the 1199 will be opened up a few millimeters for the next round but Steve Martin doesn't think that will be enough...and I think I agree, because the bike was designed to perform without them in order to be on the same playing field...which I think is something that differed from the 1098 when they accounted for them in the whole task of racing development parity.

Race 2 last couple laps were great though indeed!

Great races...especially race 2!  bow down

You guys that are focused on Ducati, get over it. There is some great racing going on regardless!!

You can also watch the races streamed live on the BeIN website. Their coverage is awesome...zero commercials, and showed the World Superstock, WSS, and the WSBK races this round.  waytogo
