FFS, I hope that guy sells the bike.
Next time it's going to be a tree/phone pole/light pole/immovable object that his system locks on to, not some hapless squishy bicyclist.
I feel bad for that bikie, he was doing everything right and he still got drilled in his six.

I am in no way imaginable blaming the dude on the bike but I have to ask, with all of the videos of motorcycles and cars running off the road on this stretch of highway, why in the hell would you rice a bike there!!??
People stand around to watch and video vehicles crashing, it happens a LOT. I would avoid this area like the plague!

You're assuming the cyclists know that auto/moto shens happen there a lot. If they don't have/care about cars or engine powered bikes its possible they had no clue they were in such a hazardous area.
From Rnickymouse:
Even though bicycles are up here in increasing numbers, this is the first time a bycycle has been hit by a motorcycle In the fours years I've been up here. Motorcycle riders of all skill levels come up here to practice. This location it is pretty common for riders to sometimes go wide exiting the turn. It is very unfortunate, and a rare case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Futility never stopped a slapfest from happening.

Unsafe speed or following too closely would work. From just watching the video there are no other criminal charges I could see. Everything else will be handled civilly. The bike was towed because it was either too damaged to ride or the rider was unlicensed or suspended.
And why beat the crap out of him? So you can be filmed assaulting someone and take a ride to jail?
