Route 33 in West Virginia
«
on:
May 06, 2013, 07:26:45 AM »
Hi CAMer's,
I'm thinking about riding to 33 sometime in June has anyone done this, is it worth doing it as a day trip or is it better to stay overnight in Harrisonburg? I'm riding from Arlington to Gainesville then cutting through 211 to route 340 to Harrisonburg. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks,
Darin

Hey Darin, welcome to the CAM.
People usually head out and back during the same day. Some slab + backroads until 211 then whatever gets you to 33. Break for lunch and usually come back the same way. No need to stay overnight unless you're riding only backroads and stopping a lot for pics.
Ciao,
Massimo

Hi CAMer's,
... I'm riding from Arlington...
Thanks,
Darin
Another Arlingtonian? Are you in North or South Arlington? I live on "The Pike" and hear several Ducatis ride by during the weekends...Welcome!

Several of us Alringtonians. I used to live up that way - right near the car pool. Now, down just north of the Alex border

Classic route. Do the 33/250 "U" from Harrisonburg to Staunton counter-clockwise, spend the night in Staunton (plenty of decent places to eat/drink there), wake up early and do the whole loop twice in the opposite direction and head home.

Totally beats my 40-minute after-dinner spins through Clifton. You guys are in another league.

I'll take you out there some time this year if I decide to keep the bikes. If not, it'll just be fountainhead.
