you US guys should go.  Looking at the videos of the tracks on youtube the circuits looks best suited for a bigger bike.  The track layout looks very fast, not technical.  Undecided  I'd rather have Shenandoah lol but again $150 and less than 3 hours away

I think it sold out yesterday, but you can check out absolutecycle.com or call them  to get on the waiting list.

ok so this past tuesday we did the trackday at Lightning.
2 1/2 hours doesn't sound long drive, but it seemed like a long drive down  the night before.  Perhaps it was because we couldn't figure out how to turn on the radio (on the way down) in the van we borrowed and there was no ac in it.

The Absolute Cycle guys running the day did an awesome job organizing the day.

We rode on the Lightning Circuit, it's VERY fast, not technical like previous tracks we've been on.  But mucho fun none the less.   The bowl is insane.. you have can pin it in the entrance and just wail the whole way through!!!  VERY fun passing people here.

The Thunderbolt Circuit looks like it will be the more technical of the two.

We were lucky enough to run into fellow DESMOites the night before at dinner, who were also doing the trackday, they had extra pop-up canopies which made a big difference in the bright sun!!
Bike people are good people!!   It makes it so much more fun riding and hanging with friends.   :)040

Here are some photos from the day

early morning:

terry's blue/yello/white SV650 track bike finished!  (almost, still needs some tweaking for more power)

about to pass our friend Kfir (Phil)

about to pass the gixxer chick in front of me

about to pass the group in front of me... there's a pattern developing

we'll be at that track next month for Cali Superbike School Level 3.  And then in october on Lightning and the new Thunderbolt Circuit as well... can't wait!   :)040

Got a new set of Gilles rearsets for my SV650 which should help me feel more comfortable hanging off.  And expecting a new throttle tube soon, as with the stock one I need to double twist the throttle to get it to the end  Tongue  and there is a lot more power up high on the SV that I'm missing out on..
