AMA is probably paying him some huge premium to get some names back in the field, that's my guess.

They'd find a ride for him if that were the case.  What's he gonna race -- a Zuke?  That said, I'd like to see Hayes and Mladin going at one another, either on the same or different hardware.  As it stands now, AMA SBK is about watching Hayes turn laps while Herrin and a random Zuke occasionally duke it out.  In fact, it's not really about watching Hayes because he takes off and is off the screen in a lap or two while the producer in the booth desperate searches around for something interesting happening further back in the pack.

i am a conspiracy theorist

it is probably a whole pitch developed to get racing nerds to talk about AMA pooperbike.

"Mladin considers returning to AMA superbike"
"What's he going to ride?!! ZOMFG!"
"Mladin negoiates with Kamapooyu, Suzanda, Ducarly and Bajaj for a ride."
"Mladin secretly developing new SBK with unknown manufacturer."
"PRESENTING:  MAT MLADIN ON THE NEWEST AND MOST EXCITING SUPERBIKE EVER: THE BAJAJ PULSAR 200!!"

I like The Ben but he's dangerously close to following in The Hooper's footsteps. Roll Eyes Lot's of talent and potential but fast becoming damaged goods. Would you want to sign him up to an extended contract for another year at this point in the season?

Telling ya'. He should have listened to me and signed with a top flight WSBK team. laughingdp
