We ended up buying a Piaggio typhoon 50 instead of a Piaggio zip 50. The typhoon has 12" wheels and bigger brakes. Oh, and was $500 more. Most of the cost of a zorst.

I've been promised a zorst come tax time. I'm holding him to that. Also increasing the compression on my uber heads, and shiny new valves, and...

In the meantime all the bits I need to get my bike going are on their way.

That they're awesome? Actually they are a lot of fun. Slow as a wet week, but very practical.

The reason we went for a 50 rather than a bigger bike is because licensing here for 50cc scoots is really easy, and Perry isn't super confident in his abilities.

My super-secret plan is that once he's buzzing around and has found some confidence, we'll get him a bigger scoot and he can go back to L plates for a bit.

thats the prob with 50cc scoots , they are that slow bordering on dangerous

So Perry hated the scoot. We sold it, and I spent the proceeds on my bike.

I tried to do that, but the angle of the bend is such that the back end of the left one hits the swingarm in that position. I need connector pipes with a few degrees less bend. Alternatively I could set my headers so the pipes exit at more of an angle...

Excellent choice but I'm not sure why they are not obnoxious!  
Definitely need to be swept up and have the baffles drilled out of them so you can hear the real sound.
I don,t ever remember having mine in and when they over to the M800 I offered the baffles and was laughed at........ So no baffles equals

Yep from memory Suzy it was all about the header pipe angle.
I massaged mine around to get as much as I could.
