Anyone use this stuff on the gas tank or the back of the small part of the SSS thats right in front of the rear wheel? Seems like plastidip glossifier.  Might try it on my plastic gas tank because the clear coat finish on that tank is just junk; way too soft.  Those with plastic tanks know what I'm talking about.  I think it would be perfect for the back of the SSS as well.  Wonder if its thick enough to make a tank pad out of.

I know what you mean about the clear coat.  I have used an orbital buffer and some swirl remover, then wax to protect it.  This process would have to be done a lot in order to keep it looking new.  I wonder if it dulls the finish at all?

If you install it let us know!

Just thinking out loud here...what if Ducati knew they made the mistake with the expanding tanks and as a clear coat work around they went with a softer, more "flexible" clear to accommodate the swelling tank.
Sorry to butt in with something off topic.

Haven't tried this product but it seems like its readily available at most auto stores. Willing to give it a try as I've ordered some celar 3m vinyl sheets for protecting the tail section and parts of the tank prone to scratches. I feel the grip/stomp things are way overprices for what they are and refuse to buy them. Thought I'd just cut up some vinyl and see how that went not.

Whoever tries it first let the rest of us know how it compares to the clear vinyl sheets...  Memper the reason the sorry excuse for clearcoat is so soft on the sorry excuse for a gas tank is because the tank is made out of plastic so it could not be put in an oven to bake; at least thats what I gather.  I will admit it is a very nice looking tank though.

I had a body shop put a clear 3M product on my Bandit tank.  $50, couldn't tell it was there, looked new even after 6 years.
