Just a quick jaunt out to be sure the bike is happy & check some roads before the Deals Gap trip.

Lots of wildlife today.  Before I even got on my ride I found both of these:

Now, on to a few pics I shot.  Not many though, just a 100 miler and I forgot the Contour.

Abandoned Airfield on NC215.

Butterflies grabbing a sip of muddy mountain water:

Waterfall on NC215 right off the road.

More from same waterfall, just looking down from road.

A section of road in the middle of nowhere on NC281.

That last picture, I can almost feel the sensation of riding on it: lean left, then right.. then left again ... Dolph

Nice one JM  waytogo

Sometimes your riding environment is another world from mine, but looks like you went for a ride in my neighbourhood this day coz those pics could've all come from my backyard (except for the giant tortoise).

Ung - I've heard the Great Smoky Mountains (my area) is very similar to Australia's Blue Mountains area, your comments seem to confirm that.

FYI - for those not familiar with those prehistoric looking turtles, they're quite mean and their beak/jaws can break and even sever a finger.

dp - Yea, I don't miss the frost heaves, they sure can mess up a line!
