thats true the cops can fine you if they believe its is wrong

the trick is knowing that its right and proving it

is this blinker the only thing you have an issue with ??

yes it is

ok well here is the applicable adr's to blinkers and they meet all the requirements

I have heard strories of guys in modded cars playing the police game

cops trying to defect factory stock cars

the best ones are guys with modded cars with complete engineering certificates

these tyres are too big
here sir its on the cert

this intercoler insnt compliant
here sir its on the cert

these gauges arent compliant
here sir its on the cert

its also known as the attitude test

fail the attitude test and you ar fair game

Sounds like a ill equipped male being threatened by your IQ/assets.

Reflector I get the other is bull.

I drilled and mounted the Duc reflector on the correct angle to the plate light as below, keeping the space tight.

Do you have to do the annual thing in WA?

Or is it just coz you're an escapee from the First Colony and needed a bigger WA number plate?

They probably just "did" you for the indicators coz you're "from over east"  Wink

maybe the person who did the inspection, and who has to put his name to a legal document, felt they were not appropriate and he said so.

in vic a rwc is a legal document, and if you sign it, you are liable.  someone turns across in front of a bike because they couldn't see the indicators, rider gets killed, goes to coroner, bike has non std indicators that someone in the legal process decides are too small, you gave the bike a rwc with them fitted, you're screwed.

I personally have had owners beg me to do them a favour, then been sold down the river the first time they get hassled.  so I was a complete nazi on rwc.  and it you didn't like it, you could just piss off.

I don't do rwc anymore now I have my own business.  I am quite happy to live with one less thing to be pissed and moaned at for.

maybe those complaining should get together an open a rwc/whatever it is in your state shop and give them out without regard to the rules and be everyone's mate.

As a member of the Constabulary said to me once after pulling me over for a "Licence Check", "Listen Mate! On this piece of asphalt, and right at this time, I AM THE LAW!!" Police Roll Eyes

So I took the hint and ceased to debate the legality of certain modifications, label location and blah, blah, blah!!  Angry

You become a potential target for "Blue Uniform Revenge"and harrassment! if you argue the point!! Say nothing and argue later in court if you want, but you are generally on a hiding to nowhere on the side of the road!!!  Roll Eyes

I remember vividly the time i got pulled over on the MV.

It was a random breath test station on Mona Vale Road, Boxing Day.

Firstly, they obviously all had the shits cos they were dragged in to work.

None of them had any idea re the bike and deemed four pipes exiting at the rear must be illegal ( Cuonstable B....BBBBBoyd said,....  "I don't know of any bike that has four pipes exiting at the rear", without even hearing it. Standard of course, well,  not quite.    Roll Eyes     Once started they soon knew though. They still didn't trust themselves to defect it so gave me a form, then i received a notice in the mail to book it in for a noise test within 30 days. Bear in mind that I had no reflector and my rego label was at home gathering dust.

Last weekend there was a blitz down Warriewood way ( Sydneys norther beaches area ) which is a popular run for modified cars and Harleys. It was a joint effort, RTA, EPA and around half a dozen Highway Patrol.  They had a mobile testing station set up at Rat Park, the plod would patrol around and pull over suspect cars and bikes then drag them back to be tested. It is a frequent act here these days. Their favourite spot is around Woolloomoolloo, close To Harry's Cafe. You just need to be careful where you ride these days if your bike is borderline or over.

Brad

i can understand what you are saying and from what i have heard now RWC in vic has to take photos and keep these on record
for a period of time

The issue i have is they can fail it because the 'think' its not right despiteit may meet all the rules
and to not give a reason as to why they are failing it

The job of doing RWC is to know what the rules are and enforcing them as such so they are confident in signing their life away

But to fail someone like the police do because they 'think' its not right is not the way it should be

Here in NSW the RTA are doing spot checks, and not just hear say.
My son's friend recently got a letter from the RTA ,to take his car to the RTA for an inspection, Not long after having it's annual inspection for rego.
The word has it they were doing different areas/suburbs at a time. Tongue

Glad you got it sorted Suzy.

My boobies (or lack thereof) passed no problem.   Grin

I rode my pushbike to the licencing centre, handed in the Vic plate and completed forms claiming no mods.  Well the termies were on it when I bought it - don't they come like that  Roll Eyes  No inspection required thank you very much.

Unge, no requirement for regular inspections here in WA that I know of.

I thought the indicator spacing was only brought in because of WA ... to accommodate their 25 digit plates for bikes  Roll Eyes

Exaggerating as usual. I definitely only count seventeen digits, and that includes the Geraldton bit!

That's what we did with the car. Drove it in, pulled the Eastern states plates off in the car park, went in with a few old rego receipts to show we'd owned it for honks, and all was easy.

Unfortunately I'd let the rego on the bike lapse while it was apart. It would have been much easier otherwise.

Brad, I've got nothing against the guy who did the inspection. He was clearly just applying his interpretation of the ADRs, or possibly even someone in Perths interpretation. It's just a pity the ADRs couldn't be a little less ambiguous. I'm confident my led indicators are way brighter and more visible than the stock incandescent ones, not to mention being more reliable to boot.

That's only because you paid extra for personalised plates.
