I have Gilles rear sets on my s4r, 2006, but don't remember much more than that.  Are the pegs universal?  Looking for gripper vortex or similar brand so I quit sliding off. Thanks

The Gilles are a bit special, but I think if you get ones with same thread, you'll be ok.

I used Sato rear sets the the knurl is very course with no sliding and will easily shave the leather off your boots.   Shocked
This is a good close up of and description of the pegs.

You have to search the site, the universal and Ducati only, pegs only, are spread thru their web site.

 Ordered mine from http://www.kyleusa.com/

The Gilles footpegs are non-folding, unlike the Satos at the link.  It looks like if you were to remove the folding component from the Satos, the footpeg would be way short.

These non-folding pegs might work better.  They're a whole lot less money.  I think the bolt is 8mm.

I installed a pair I bought from AF1 on my 999 to replace the slippery OEM pegs and they worked just fine.

I have Ducati Designs' footpegs (the Tour peg) on my Monster
http://www.ducatidesigns.com/inc/sdetail/3794/3793

I love it, easy to install and most importantly it's really grippy waytogo I got rid of the stock foot pegs because the stocks were really slippery when wet, my foot slipped off the peg many times that it's quite scarry, not any more now.
