One of my "Sons" called me and is looking to buy a pickup.  He is looking at either a Toyota Tundra or a Nissan Titan.  I have no personal experience with either.  He is looking at a new 2012 Titan or a 2013 Tundra.  Any first hand experience, thoughts or opinions?

Personally I prefer the Nissan, but, is he looking for looks or work?

Rebuilding the rear axle in the Titan sucks. A good friend has one and wishes he didn't.  I have a 2008 Tundra and wouldn't dream of getting the Titan.  If towing capacity is important, then Tundra all the way.

i LOVE my 2007 Tundra.

i also HATE the look of the Titan.

beyond that, I have never done a comparison,...since i would never have considered the Titan.

Tundra.

I'm not a fan of the design or build quality of the Titan.

Yeah, it happened here. I was being factious then decided not to.

Thanks for the input.  We'll see what he ends up with.

The 2014 Tundra is a refresh, so there will definitely be deals on the '13 right now.

You're biased. :P

How is that biased?

I made no comment on how much better the Tundra is than the Titan.  ;)

The Nissan is overall a nice reliable truck but if they haven't addressed the rear diff I would steer clear. It's a 4k fix or so.
