get ready for the cheapness. i made my own set of adapters for pod filters. i used two pvc pipe fittings like the one below, but i cut them in half so that all im using is the threaded part. they are smooth on the inside and didnt have any changes in size through the part i was using so i figured it couldnt be too bad. the size of pvc i used was for 2in pvc pipe on the non threaded end. i measured the outside diameter of the threads, and found a corresponding k&n filter that fit, and also measured the ammount of room between where they mounted and the bottom of the tank so i could fit the biggest ones possible under there (6 inches). the part number i used for the filters was ru0620 (im 99% sure) and how it looks on the bike. Back in the days I used to want to use PVC pipes for car cold air intake systems but was always told that PVC fumes are bad for the engine and it will get hot under the hood. If you do stick with PVC male sure it's rated for high heat.

put some pod filters today and modified the air box so that it is just a battery box I did the same thing on my 99 M900. Just make sure you make a support for the front of the airbox now that it's supporting all the weight of the battery and ignition components on just the two rear bolts. I used two tubing clamps which are screwed into the front of the battery box and attach to the horizontal frame tube that is in front of the battery box.

I was bored and had some heat resistant caliper paint. So I masked it off and used one of my wifes triangle makeup sponges to apply the paint. It worked out great.
