Sneak peek of some polishing work. The cover with the oil cooler mount is a major PITA. So many crevasses and surfaces! I love the shineys though, so all the hard work is worth it.


Aircraft stripper: VENTILATE!! Seriously this is some bad stuff! Also it ate through nitrile gloves. Be prepared to neutralize with water, and wear proper PPE.

That face says "why aren't we playing tug-o-war, can I eat these things you are polishing, what about your tires, can I chew on those?

Also, sadly my polishing skills are lackluster. Once I hit the parts with the buffer, I could see all the scratches and casting marks I missed when I went from 250 grit to 500 and 1000. I am going back over them now with 500 to get them as good as possible, but I seriously underestimated how much work polishing a sand-cast part would be laughingdp. Next time I will hire a pro.

The money you will save though and the satisfaction is worth it though. I sanded and coated a carbon fiber sprocket cover 3 times once to get it looking perfect. It still wasn't perfect but each time it got better. I gave it to a buddy as a moving gift and he loved it. It made all the work worth it in the end.

Custom Seat - ordered the seat cover from Greece for about $50 and picked up a used seat on ebay for $60 and had a local upholsterer put the new cover on for me for $30. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
