Yeah... that was at PPIR over the weekend, I believe.
No harness. Not even a seatbelt.
He limped away. Probably due to injury, but I'm guessing the suddenly full pants didn't help.

No, I know, but that was the Colorado Street Outlaw races.
Regular street cars. No specific safety requirements. Minimal tech inspection, mostly geared towards making sure your car's not gonna spew oil everywhere.
If that was an actual 55 Chevy, which I don't doubt it was, then it didn't have seatbelts when it came from the factory.
Watch at the beginning of the video. You can clearly see that there's no roll cage, and no place to attach a 4- or 5-point harness.
