WARNING Rant Ahead -
Another case of poor design in the name of safety.
Old school metal slides with low sides didn't have this problem. You only had to worry about shooting off the end and trying to miss the puddle.
These new "safer" playgrounds suck.

We used to hose down the slid, the problem was that it was on concrete. A lot of skin was left behind.
