first thing to build is the whole thing into a better garage 
That 10x40 space with the Wagoneer in it that is missing a wall and a roof will be built out as a shop area dedicated to bikes.
Then I'll fix up the rest and maybe bring that Chevelle and the Wagoneer back to life too. The Wagoneer was driven back into that formerly dark corner 18 years ago.

seat cowl, rear fender, front fender, belly pan, front fairing, dash, ECU, battery, have been taken out, ECU is on its way to 're-programing', Immo will be deleted since customer purchased bike with only one black key and no code card, it will also receive a DP map for the performance air filter and Termis . . .

Years of trips to swap meets in Italy.  Haven't gone in a few years.

Tanks are around due to my tank projects.  You don't see them, but I have a shelf with about 10 tanks of various kinds on it.

The Staintune may get sold.  I prefer high mounts on the SS bikes.

My wife and I just bought a different house. It's in town and I don't know set backs or any rules regarding building. So my question is, after giving up a 24' x 42' building, how much space should I
be considering for my moto space? I would like to get a lift table, already have air compressor and would like to get at least one or two more bikes. I have no idea how to guesstimate size. Love this thread and I have been lurking on the garage journal. Please help.

You should consult local codes to find out setback.  Most R1 zoning around the country requires at least 15' of setback for any structure over 10x10. 

I have 10 bikes and a 2 car garage and a shitload of nos and used parts.  That is not enough space.  The workshop I am building is 12x16 which will allow me to move most of the parts out and the bikes that I am working on or building..  That works out to essentially a third garage (with 10ft ceiling) and will probably be just enough space for me. 

Some of my bikes are very long term projects.  The 77 GTL I have (which was my second bike) still runs but needs to be restored, but I'm not doing it any time soon (while I collect NOS parts for it).  I have a total of 4 non running bikes that will be moved to the workshop for either storage or workspace.

I'd like to make it larger, but the space I have for it won't permit it.
