2012 696 rear brake line measurements/fittings

I need to order a custome line to enable the use of some woodcraft rearsets as my bike is ABS, does anybody know the measurements of the line, the fitting type and the fitting thread? Pretty clueless with all of this and I need to send them off to goodridge asap.

Was hoping somebody might have it measured already, don't have the time to pull the bike apart just yet, will get on it though.

no need to take bike apart, just take a tape measure, like the ones used by taylors, from master to caliper following the line, not on top but you can get a good estimate

Sorry, I should have stated ABS in the thread title.. Unfortunately the ABS master cylinder line does not go directly to the caliper, it first bypasses the ABS control unit under the tank.. Which is why I'm having such a hard time measuring, they also have solid shoulders leaving me clueless on how I'll remove it when the time comes. If it was a regular 696 non abs, I'd have no issues with installing the rearsets at all.

Guess if you want something done right you must do it yourself I'll pull it apart today and give it a crack.

Just the master cylinder one, as the solid pieces prevent the cylinder itself from moving. Measured just before was 31 inches give or take an inch.

A while back I asked Moto Wheels about getting some stainless brake lines for my ABS Evo.  They said nothing was available unless the ABS was bypassed.  I suppose a custom line could be made but I would think it somewhat costly.  Unless of course there is some kinda size/valve issue.  Not familiar enough with the ABS system to know for sure.  Sure seems like if it was doable someone would be offering it.

Ah ok. Will have to do more more reading up, the bike goes in for its annual service on the 3rd (need that ticket haha) so I will have a good chat with the blokes from the shop, I actually called them this morning and spoke to their parts guy who seemed baffled I would need to replace the ABS line for rearsets to work so I might just grab the rearsets and let them sort this one out. I used to ride a vtr250 NON ABS and an FZR250 NON ABS aswell, it seems like a ridiculous question but is there anything I can do to scrap the abs? The previous year model of the 659 they did one lot without ABS but unfortunately my year (2012) was ABS only. Ive been riding dirtbikes for around 9-10 years now and can live without it..

You can bypass the ABS.  I like mine..........

My M1100s doesnt have ABS.

But.... if it did, I would not be looking for a way to bypass it just to fit some rearsets 

Your issue isnt an insurmountable problem IMO, if you're determined to have these particular rearsets I'm sure it's gotta be possible to make 'em fit AND retain your ABS. 

Keep investigating the replacement break line option is my advice.  Or get over these rear sets and find some that are bolt-on for your ABS bike.
