Urgent Rear Set Help! in the mechanichs garage now
«

Hey guys,
I'm sitting in the Honda Dealership ( in yuma, AZ no Duc guys) right now waiting to get DucaBike Pilot rearsets installed. The Mechanichs think they have it all figured out but are delaying installation because they are unsure of a couple of things (really happy they are waiting and just didn't dive in).
1. No instructions available
2. Doesn't appear that there is some place for the spring on the rear master to hook on the new rearsets.
3. Are the frame bolts loctight? He doesn't want to hurt anything or use a torch if he doesn't have to to warm things up.
Any help will be much appreciated!

My DucaBike rear sets (2012 1100 Evo) did not come with any provision for a mc return spring. I rode without one for a while with no problems, but it bothered me so I fabricated two spring cups/washer and installed a spring ala the Yoyodyne spring installation. It is probably a safe bet that most DucaBike sets are running without a spring.
I believe the frame bolts are locktight from the factory, but I do not remember any difficulties loosening and removing them.

I don't know what bike you have, butt when I changed to pegs on my 09 1100 the bolts came right out with no problem. I would recommend torquing them down properly tho........

The instructions for my Rizoma sets called for medium loc-tite...the factory sets came off with no resistance.

Thanks for the help and answers. The mechanics primary concern was the spring for the rear master, so it was nice to hear that it wasn't an issue.
Love the rear sets, I'm going to have to adjust them a bit, but now I can:) It sure seems like the bike shifts way smoother now, does that make any sort of sense?
