Let's get together for a social, chill ride. I'm proposing we meet at 10:00 and ride for a few hours, stop for a long lunch, and ride home.

Meet @ 10:00 (roll at 10:30) -
Starbucks
10116 River Rd
Potomac, MD 20854

Lunch @ 12:30 (possibly closer to 1:00) -
Blue Moon Cafe
200 East High Street
Shepherdstown, WV 25443

The plan is to have everyone back in Potomac around 4:30. Bring some cash because we might take Whites Ferry across the Potomac on the out or back route. I think it's 3 bucks for m/c.

may I make a subtle suggestion of variation...perhaps if we were to head a lil further out towards say Shepardstown, we could then eat at the Blue Moon Cafe with is a very chill place to eat and could lead to a great ride to and fro.

Sounds good to me.

Edit: I am less familiar with the roads around Shepardstown, so could use some recommendations (or maybe you could take over lead).

when coming into Harpers Ferry on 340, there is a kinda goatpath looking road on the left after you pass the gas station on the left that looks like it climbs parallel before disapearing...it is called Chestnut Hill Rd....fun road!....at the end of it, we can make a right on 9 and head towards general area of Shepardstown via 17 or cut back on 340 and take 230, or explore a few smaller roads in the area....whatever the group wants to do.

Harpers Ferry Rd is a good bit of fun, goes all the way up to Sharpsburg, MD and from there 34 takes you into Shepherdstown, WV.

Edit. here's a possible route from Potomac to Shepherdstown: link.

Edit2 and return link.

Just a small bump to say I've updated the OP with firmer details.

Thanks, Massimo and Brian, for helping me figure this out.

[THUMBSUP]....I just need to make sure I get my long slow run in that morning very early....which should keep me chilled out in terms of riding hot since my muscles will be probably a lil sore.

well....the startling realization of my rear tire being done has reared its ugly head as the outer layer of carcass has started to show through the next layer in the center....

Yikes! Well, you do have another bike... If you're not in the mood to wrench on Bianca.

It's a chill pace. Just run some duct tape over the bald spots, and short-shift the whole ride. It's a little slippery at first...
