ive been away for a couple years so who is still here
To be perfectly honest you haven't missed all that much. It has been pretty quiet ... the two things of note in the last couple of months are Bazz coming back online and Suzy buying an exhaust.
Despite all the casual comings and goings ...
The NSW SummarySocial gatherings have been minimal with the inner city folk having fallen out of love with the Monster lifestyle to a large degree. Some have had a change in family priorities but generally the lure of dirt, chickens and all that entails has kept things low key on here.
Group rides have been few and far between since the mass booking of 2011. This combined with over-enthusiastic enforcement, some unconscionable conduct and the targeting of after-market safety tools (exhausts) by the constabulary have kept things pretty sombre.
The most significant thing to happen on the bike front has been Andy's work ... but he is too shy to talk about that publicly. Expect the banter to increase over the next couple of weeks as the DOC Concours comes and goes and all the regular antagonists continue to stroke their ... umm, egos ... and ... ahh, bikes.
QueenslandWell Queenslanders are generally viewed on a different scale to others in OzMo land but Loony has struggled to find friends and regular riding mates up there. His problems have probably only been exasperated by the trading of the Monster and his insistence that people would love the Diavel if they could only bring themselves to ride one.
VictoriaMost Victorians have abandoned Dragon ... I am not sure what it says about the guy but even Heather has decided to flee to the wild west. Although, to be fair, some of the recent posting from Victorians have actually been Monster related and include some work on their bikes. Firstly there is the brothers sharing their family bonding sessions with the rest of us but perhaps to outdo the other states from a contribution point of view has been the 'eccentrics'.
The peculiar thing about that is that the stand out work down there recently has come from new-gen Monster owners (yes I know 'eccentrics' is a big call coming from me). You can all make up your own minds on what that says.
TasmaniaWell Tassie has never recovered after the loss of Bazz. Some owners have sold up ... Dave has had to content himself with life on the high seas and Leigh has been left about as isolated as ... well ... a Tasmanian.
South AustraliaWith Vossy taking stock and re-evaluating the time he was wasting with us, things have been a bit quiet down there too ... with Mr S2R practically having to fend for himself.
WAHeather has not been alone in moving to WA with Suzy now also enjoying the wide open spaces and straight roads of the west. Monsta has obviously had his hands full with the female invasion and seems to have been a bit quiet as a consequence.
Interesting that Suzy has recently felt the consequences of isolation and has succumbed to peer pressure and found herself an after-market exhaust.
OverallThere has been so little happening from a Monster point of view postings can generally be credited to the three stooges ... Sir Rob, Brian and Two Dogs (the artist formally known as Dez). These, often homo-erotic, postings are generally constructed to encourage banter amongst the forumites ... but at least the constant ridiculing of one another maintains a bit of traffic.
Despite their continued attempts to recruit a fourth musketeer starting with Wells and then moving onto Paul ... they have found a more willing participant in Mishka and the eroticism seems to have only increased.
Oh and if you got this far ... don't forget to remind yourself of my sig-line (just remember disputing the truth adds no humour to the discussion). Apologies to anybody if I have glossed over your meaningful contributions while Bazz has been MIA.
