Antics is the correct term 'cause she was running fine before. The first Auto Tune trim really was a major improvement. But, I have never accepted stock induction systems on my cars or bikes so I decided to do something about this one also, then saw the MWR kit and thought, easy peasey.
First run, I took it easy and did a remap. Then did two more long runs. She definitely is running better according to my SOPD.
I started her before re-installing the side panels and placed my hand in front of the filters and could actually feel the air flow. Not a high degree of flow, but definitely felt.
On all of the runs after the filter mod, I noticed that she seemed ready to stall with abrupt throttle closures. I took a look at the idle AFR and they were about 15.5 and 17.0 respectively. The PCV came with no AFR values in the cells at 1250 and 1500 so I entered 13.8 and will see how she likes that tomorrow. My initial concern was fouling the plugs, but I think that I am flowing so much air it should not be a problem. Seems to idle smoother, but that may be my overactive imagination.
Do I recommend doing this? Not really, but it can't hurt so long as one understands remapping will be necessary. Will it add to your grin factor? Yes, and if the induction sound at +4K doesn't make you grin, much less the performance increase, sell the bike 'cause you are too mature and sensible for it.
