That ultralight is a death trap. Having flown paragliders for over 3600 hours (mostly in thermals) I can safely say that aircraft is not safe. Paragliders are not rigid wings and can do some evil things in turbulence. Collapse, spin, re-inflate, surge at the ground.
In smooth air fun little toy. in bad air? Bye bye baby.

I am un-qualified to speak on this subject but I once heard some advice on hang/para gliding - "Never fly higher than you're willing to fall."

That singapore thing is nice but this sure beats flying coach on United.

My dreams were crushed after 9/11, sadly. I was taking lessons and the prices sky rocketed with all the new rules in place so off to another habit. I've considered starting again but haven't looked into pricing and time. My biggest regret is not signing up to fly the Widow Maker (AKA Harrier).
