Saw one in DC

Smaller than I expected. But very cool to see up close.

One of the coolest planes ever, and a favorite of mine.

I'm still kicking myself for not visiting the Pima Air & Space Museum (where they have one) in Tucson in all of the times I've visited that city.  Undecided

I hope to visit there this spring.  They have a cockpit in the Boeing Museum in Seattle that you can sit in.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I helped change an engine in of of those at Buckley and got to sit in the Cockpit. The view all around in the canopy was different than what I expected. It was like laying on top of the airplane almost.

The F-16, not the C-21, right? Wink

Yes the F16. They let us Squids come over one day and "Help"
As nice a building the Naval Reserve center is it gets boring over there.

Did you know there is a ship board Damage control simulator in that building?
It has flooding water and watertight hatches and all that stuff.

I don't go over to that part of the base.  From the outside, and from overhead it does look like a nice facility.

I did not know about that simulator.  I remember the Navy Reserve used to have a submarine simulator, and a bunch of other stuff at site near I-25 & I-70.

Yea one of the things they do is get everyone Damage Controll qualified (DC qual)  was there for 5 weekend drills and the did my 2 weeks (right after I finished Airframe school in Cheyenne) in San Diego on the Carrier.

Even though My job was as a jet mechanic i spent most of the time on board learning ships systems & fire/DC control.

Everybody from the Skipper on down has to be qualed. Its kind of like having a fire on the airplane, if you dont get it put out youre screwed.
