exhaust deadening
«

I'm after a product that I can spray or paint onto an exhaust that will deaden resonance...
I've built an exhaust for my bike. I'm pretty happy with it (It makes power compared to what I had) except it has what I would call resonance or reverberation? Sounds a bit funny when I give it a rev or hold it about 5-6 thou RPM on the road.
Anyhow, Ive been at google for about an hour looking for some product that I can coat the inside (most would put it on the outside, but I'm able to paint the inside) of the exhaust that would deaden the 1.6mm stainless that I made the exhaust out of, and be hight temp resistance.
Anyone got any ideas?

This is concerning the box you built, yes?

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Bastrd... you prompted me to ring the people that did the ceramic coating on it, they dont have anything that I think will be suitable.
Yeah Buckethead, thats the one. Just trying to tweek it a bit. may have to go down the packing it path but I didn't want to restrict flow too much.

Resonance for any given surface or object is affected by a LOT of factors.
One (MAJOR) factor is mass (thus bar-end weights). You could try a thick coat of ceramic coating in the form of BBQ paint on the major sides. Maybe the spray-on Rhino Liner stuff? I don't know what kind of temps that stuff is rated for.
Anything you can do to change how one of the surfaces vibrates will change the resonating characteristics of the entire system.
What's the internal bracing/baffling look like on that box?

Its all very solid inside...
Maybe resonance is the wrong word. It just makes noise like the sound is bouncing around inside!
no vibration or anything.
like I said, just tweeking! cant help myself!

My first suggestion would be to make one, single, tall L channel baffle that runs on a diagonal from one corner of the floorplate to the other.
Fasten it to the bottom and see how that works.
