so, the guy i ride with has a sport bike (CBR 900) and an HD.  he's a nice guy and we get along well.  here's
the question:  he's 'pledging' ... or whatever the correct term is ... to the 'booze fighters' club.  am i going to
be on a ride with this guy when he decides to kill me for his gang-required murder?  or are the booze fighters
different from those 'other' 1%-er organizations.  i don't want to be a prick but its kinda wierding me out.

I don't think you have anything to worry about

if he tries to kill you

kill him first

then you can join the boozefighters

I read a great book about the "original" boozefighters.  The real club had a membership limit of 20, never more than 20.  Suffices to say, it's not like it used to be.  I'm not sure they are even 1%ers anymore.  I'll dig out the book and post the title and author.  It was a great read.

From a quick search, they seem benign.

Is that the book that you're thinking of, right side of that last page, raulduke?

Simply brilliant.

perfect ... that's what i was looking for.

or i could start my own 0.5%-er organization.

for some reason, the image of harpo marx trying to intimidate the thugs in 'horse feathers' is coming to mind.

Interesting, I wasn't aware that the Boozefighters still existed. Not all patchholding-type clubs are total badass 1% organizations - those are actually somewhat rare.

And, for the record, the term is "prospecting".  Wink

What`s a 1% club ? I belong to a patch wearing club and didn`t need to kill anyone for it Grin

The boozefighters are still going strong here in Japan.

They are just another riding group tho not the drug dealin gangbustin group they were once upon a time.

A fairly decent explanation of the 1% thing here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_club
