Hello all,
I have had my ducati monster 900 for about a year now.  Previous owner installed an aftermarket tail light (led with integrated sequential turn signals) unknown brand
I was a good boy the other day before a ride and checked my rear signals.  without motor running the left worked and right did not,,,, not too long after they both would not work.   I cleaned a bunch of connections which needed to be done anyway.   and then i realized that they did work correctly but only with the motor running.
I am wondering if these lights are supposed to work with out the motor running.
I am not sure if mine did prior to me checking.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

The light may be a Motodynamics brand. IIRC Instructions say engine must be running for light to work properly.

Could be you have a week battery.

I had the motodynamic (same) tail light with integrated sequential turns... At first the lights worked with out the motor running,  then since I found out I need to replace my battery soon, I also found out that the turn signals only work when the bike is running.

If it is the actual taillight starting to fail, I'm pretty sure MotoDynamics (given that's which one it is) warranties their tails.
Does it have the sequential flasher, or just solid when it flashes?

Desmosedici - it's the new Paso (except the bodywork doesn't fit as well)

Ditto to what everyone else is saying.

My carbie's MD taillight only turns on when the engine is not running, no turn signals or brighter when brake lever is pressed. When the engine is running everything works correctly.
