Barn find
«

This barn find is back ... apparently the winner bulged out:

Lovely bike, but I'd have some concern about bringing it back to life ...

I see a good power washing and some fresh gas in it's future.
Damn, couldn't they at least find a sheet to throw over that poor thing a few years ago? And I thought I had some dusty relicas stored away. Jeeez...

Only 100 748L.
That makes me feel bad about my 748L.

I'd like to know who's name is listed as purchaser on the original title. I'm suspicious this "barn find" was found in his own barn right where he stored it. It looks like this guy likes his collection and has decided to sell one of them. The dust on the bike looks like someone wetted down the bike and then blew dry dirt all over it with a fan. I don't think it would look like that at all with a tarp covering it. I think he decided to throw in a little barn find "mystique" to his ad, like he was the one who "discovered" it, to generate more interest.
... but maybe not.

It's the model designation for the 'Needless Markup' edition.

Borrowed from Wiki;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ducati_748
"The Ducati 748L, also known as the Needless Markup edition, is a limited edition model produced by Ducati Motors. One hundred were produced in 1998 and sold exclusively through the Neiman Marcus catalog. The 748L features Mercury metallic paint, carbon fiber front fender and chain guard."
