.....I swear every bike I see in motorcycle mags now is a naked/hooligan with handlebars. New Super Duke, Naked BMW 1000rr, etc.....
Manufacturers of many things get their "inspiration" from the street/sub cultures. The fighter thing became big enough that the bigwigs were like "This is popular, we can make money off this style lets make hooligan-like bikes". Same thing happened when bobbers were all the rage a few years back. Enter crap like the Fury and the Bolt for example.

they are not hip or cool. Beethoven does not come in spray cans.
Though I will say that the bikes I mentioned and the fighter like production bikes have great foundations for modification.
If you like handle bars, regardless of their seeming popularity that's fine. Whatever makes you comfy.
